All services are free of charge and confidential. We are here to listen, help you in any way we can and answer any questions you may have.
We’re here to help you explore all your pregnancy options, including the choices adoption has to offer. We provide free information about the adoption process and referrals to adoption agencies that best meet your needs. In most cases, financial assistance for medical and living expenses is available for the birth mother, along with many other benefits.
How can Athens Pregnancy Center help?
If I talk with a local adoption agency does that mean I will have to place my baby for adoption or feel pressured to do so?
Absolutely not! We and our local adoption agency are here to support you no matter what decision you make regarding adoption! You actually cannot sign any legal paperwork regarding your adoption until 24 hours after you give birth to your baby. The State of Georgia allows you up to 4 days after your child’s birth to change your mind about adoption. However, if you are considering adoption it would likely be in your best interest to begin the process as early as possible so that you can have as much time as you need to have your questions answered, have the opportunity to pick the best family for your child and have someone walk through this journey with you.
How will I pick an adoptive family for my child?
Are there any costs for me to choose an adoption plan?
Can I receive updates and pictures from my child’s adoptive family in the future?
If you are considering adoption, we would be more than happy to talk with you about this possibility and help answer any other questions you may have. We are here for you no matter what and would love to be a friend to you in this process!
